Obituary of Norman George Pace
Norman “Chip” George Pace, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on September 27, 2023.
Chip, as he was known to his family and friends, was born in Kingston, PA on August 21, 1939 to Edwin Pace and Betty Metz. He grew up in Lincoln Park and graduated from Boonton High School in 1957. Chip met the love of his life and married Joanne Tweed in 1963. They raised their three daughters in Boonton while opening L & C Decor Distributors with his original partner Louis Blumberg and later on Michael Coppola until his retirement. He continued to work part time driving a school bus for Van Riper/O’Dowd bus company in Montville. In 2018, Chip and Joanne retired to Naples, Florida where they joined the lovely community of Naples Heritage Golf and Country Club.
Chip was well known for his athletic ability and was an avid sports fan. He played softball for American Legion Post 179 in Lincoln Park as well as basketball into his 60’s before turning to golf where he was a member of Peace Pipe Country Club. He loved watching any sporting event, especially his grandchildren’s - even tuning into live streaming events in more recent years.
Chip is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Joanne, his daughter’s, Tracy Headden (Dave) Tammy McMahon (Pete) and Heather Sluck (Joe) and his 7 grandchildren Maggie, Shayna, Morgan, Chris, Joey, Ryan and McKenna. As well as his sisters Marilynn Holden and Patricia Vaughn.
Funeral services are provided by Dangler Lewis and Carey and services will be private.
